Bhadrak: In order to remain prepared for any law and order issues, the Bhadrak district administration has cancelled the leaves of district and administrative level officers during the Dola and Holi festivals.
The district Collector has issued a directive to this effect, instructing officials to remain at headquarters during the festivities.
The officials, including the Additional Collector, Sub-Collector, Tehsildars, and BDOs, have been directed to be present at the headquarters, particularly during the three-day holiday period starting March 14 to 16. They have been asked not to take leave during the festival.
In an official letter to district administration officials, Bhadrak Collector and District Magistrate Dilip Routrai emphasised that absence of senior officials, particularly those responsible for maintaining law and order, could hamper prompt response efforts.
The letter highlighted during Holi, there is an increased possibility of uncontrolled youth gatherings, leading to tense street situations and potential challenges for the authorities.
However, in cases of extreme necessity, prior permission from the Collector is mandatory for availing leave.
