Bhubaneswar: General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECoR) Roop Narayan Sunkar has directed the officials to put the ongoing project works for Bhubaneswar New Railway Station on fast track.
During an inspection of the projects on Monday, Sunkar emphasised on the facilities for the passengers and directed the officials to pick up the pace of works for their completion soon. The primary focus should be on development of circulating areas, concourse, platform lightings, waiting rooms, toilets for the comfort of passengers.
He also advised the officials to coordinate with state government officials for improving the road connectivity to the station for the benefit of rail users.
Stating that Rilway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has been giving priority to development of railway infrastructure of the region along with various project works going on in Odisha, Sunkar said he is monitoring the developmental works regularly.
During the inspection, ECoR Principal Chief Engineer NS Uikey, Chief Engineer (Construction) Akshay Saxena and other senior officials were present.
