Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday said the Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) will play a vital role in promoting peaceful atmosphere in the state.
Gracing the passing out parade of the first batch recruit constables of OISF at the 7th Battalion here, the chief minister said, “The government created the OISF to provide an integrated safety and security cover to the industrial undertakings and establishments. Odisha has achieved one of the highest industrial growths and is among the most attractive investment destinations in the country.”
Stating that as many as 1,289 constables, 203 among them women, are passing out after completing 270 days of training, Naveen said it is for the first time that women have been inducted into the armed police wing in Odisha.
Expressing happiness over women constables having performed well by securing 8 out of 10 top slots in outdoor subjects, Naveen congratulated Purnima Mohapatra for being the overall topper of the batch.
