Ollywood Actor Papu Pom Pom Hospitalised

Bhubaneswar: The health condition of popular Ollywood actor and comedian Papu Pom Pom is critical.

The actor, reportedly afflicted with acute pancreatitis, has been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of SUM Hospital in Odisha capital.

Sources quoting the family members said Papu had recently gone to Bangkok to shoot for a movie. After returning from there, he was working on a project in Cuttack where he complained of acute pain in the lower abdomen. The family members admitted him to SUM Hospital where the doctors diagnosed him with acute pancreatitis.

Though his condition was stable the last two days, he complained of acute chest pain on Monday.

Sources said his family members are planning to shift him to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi in an air ambulance on Tuesday.

According to doctors, excess liquor consumption is a major cause of acute and chronic pancreatitis.
