Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actress Jhilik Bhattacharjee is now trying her luck as a producer with Rudrani.
After her marriage, Bengali girl Jhilik, who is married to an Odia, was rarely seen on screen. But she will be back with Rudrani, a woman-centric movie whose mahurat was held recently here. Jhilik will play the lead role in the movie.
Jhilik started her acting career with Bengali movie Tomay Bhalo Bashi. She made her Ollywood foray with Odia movie Target, where she starred opposite Amlan.
She has done 14 Odia movies and seven Bengali movies so far.
“Rudrani focuses on Odia language, culture and tradition. Shooting will be done at various places in Odisha from January 10,” creative head Pranay Jethi said.
K Muralikrishna is the director of the movie. He has also written the screenplay. Prem Anand is the music composer and Dr Rajani Ranjan has written the dialogues.
Others starring in the movie are Mantu, Lohitakhya, Pintu Nanda, Babi Mishra, Dharitri Khanduala, Prativa Panda, Shakti Barala, Jeevan Panda, and Sunita.
Social worker Pratima Ghadai inaugurated the production house ‘Jhilik Motion Pictures’ on the occasion.
