Bhubaneswar: Ollywood hero Sabyasachi Mishra has managed to rescue 35 Odia workers, who were being ill-treated in Tamil Nadu.
Sabyasachi started chasing the matter after getting a video through his Twitter handle. He took up the matter with the Odisha Labour Department, Odisha Police and Tamil Nadu police and with their help, traced the migrant labourers.
The actor later shifted them to a safer place and arranged food and other essential things for the workers with the help of his ‘Smile Force’ team in Chennai.
According to sources, the rescued 35 migrant workers belong to Bhadrak. They were allegedly being tortured in Tamil Nadu during the lockdown period to the extent of going without food and water, said sources.
The Tamil Nadu Police has taken action against the culprit and is investigating the matter, Sabyasachi informed on social media.
