Bhubaneswar: Ollywood movie ‘Cuttack Weds Sambalpur’, filled with romance and family drama, is all set for release.
If the government allows cinema halls to reopen, the film will be released in theatres in September to coincide with ‘Nuakhai,’ the agricultural festival of Western Odisha, said the producer, Ramesh Barik.
“Shooting for the movie has almost finished. Only the post-production work remains,” said Barik.
Ollywood hero Sambeet Acharya will play the lead role. He was last seen in a unique role in the movie ‘Chumki My Darling’. New actress Susmita Pradhan will make her debut in the movie.
The story is based on two lovebirds. One is from Cuttack and the other from Sambalpur. Many parts of the movie have been shot in Western Odisha.
The remaining star cast includes Guddu, Pintu Nanda, Pradip Debta, Raja, and Maha Prasad Kar.
The movie has been produced under the banner of ‘RR Events and Cine Production’ and is Bapi David’s debut directorial venture. K Tamanna is the co-producer of the movie. The story and dialogues are written by Jatindra Pradhan and Jitendra Seth, respectively.
Baidyanath Dasi and Kamalesh Chakrabarty have directed the music.
“Many movies are awaiting release due to the lockdown. We are desperately waiting to release our films in theatres. I hope we can resume our shooting schedules soon,” said Barik.
