Panipat: Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra was taken to a hospital after he fell ill during a felicitation program at his native village Khandara in Haryana on Tuesday.
According to sources, the champion javelin thrower has been suffering from fever and sore throat for the past three days. However, a COVID test report had come out negative.
On Tuesday, his health deteriorated while he was on the stage at the program at Khandara. The organisers then escorted Neeraj out of the stage.
Sources said Neeraj’s family has taken him to a hospital. However, the name of the hospital and Neeraj’s present condition couldn’t be ascertained immediately.
