Bhubaneswar: Kurmitar Iron Ore Mines of Odisha Mining Corporation Ltd (OMC) has been presented the prestigious Pollution Control Excellence Award 2026 in the Mines Category by the State Pollution Control Board (SPCB), Odisha.
The award, recognising Kurmitar mines’ excellent work in pollution control, environmental management and adoption of sustainable mining practices, was presented at the 43rd Foundation Day ceremony of SPCB Odisha, held at Krishi Siksha Sadan Auditorium, OUAT, Bhubaneswar, on Friday.
OMC is a wholly-owned corporation of the Odisha government, and one of India’s leading mining companies.
OMC plays a key role in strengthening the industrial ecosystem in Odisha by ensuring efficient utilisation of the state’s mineral resources.
