Bhubaneswar: Individuals, agencies and firms can now purchase Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation (OMFED) products at wholesale prices provided they procure a minimum quantity of milk products.
As per revised guidelines, wholesalers or distributors don’t need to empanel themselves with OMFED, nor would they have to deposit any security amount.
To avail of wholesale rates in Bhubaneswar, minimum amount of billing of OMFED products is Rs 7500. For OMFED dairies in other areas of Odisha, one needs to procure at least Rs 5000 worth of milk products.
“From now on, any individual/firm/agency/wholesaler/distributor can purchase OMFED milk products directly from any of the OMFED dairies located in the state/OMFED wholesale sale point with a minimum billing amount and lot size,” OMFED said in a press note, specifying the billing amounts.
Wholesalers who purchase milk products for the minimum billing amount can buy additional plain milk at retail price from the dairy point. The minimum order for milk should be 30 litres per billing.
“The individual/firm/agency/wholesaler can also intimate the respective OMFED dairies in advance and place necessary indents in case of large orders, so that the lots will be kept ready on the date of lifting. These indents can be placed through telephone or Whatsapp with the respective dairies,” the press release further stated.
