Hubballi: The daughter of a Congress corporator was stabbed to death by her former classmate inside the college campus in Karnataka’s Hubballi recently.
The accused, Fayaz Kondikoppa from Sadavatti in Begalavi district, has been arrested.
According to police, the deceased, Neha Hiremath (23) was a first-year Masters of Computer Applications (MCA) student at BVB College of KLE Technology University. Neha was suffering from typhoid and could not attend classes for two months. On Thursday, she went to the college to appear in an examination.
The CCTV footage from the campus showed Fayaz, her ex-classmate who studied in another college, stabbing her several times with a knife and running away.
Neha was rushed to KIMS Hospital by other students and college authorities where she was declared brought dead.
Fayaz was overpowered by students and college staff while trying to escape and handed over to the police. During interrogation, he told police that Neha was friendly with him but had started avoiding him lately.
The deceased was Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath’s daughter.
