Nilagiri: A school employee on election duty died on his way to a polling booth at Nilagiri in Balasore district on Saturday.
He has been identified as Purnachandra Panda, a a Group-D employee of Barabati Girls’ High School in Balasore.
He had boarded a bus and complained of uneasiness while heading towards booth no. 28 at Ajodhya in the area. He was admitted to the Balasore district headquarters hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Preliminary reports suggest that he died due to suspected heatstroke. The reason behind the death can be ascertained after postmortem, hospital sources said.
