New Delhi: On October 13, movie buffs can watch the film of their choice in the theatre for just Rs 99. The mega offer has been announced by The Multiplex Association of India to celebrate National Cinema Day 2023. The decision will be applicable to over 4,000 screens across India including PVR INOX, Cinepolis, Citypride, Miraj, Wave, Mukta A2, Movie Time, Delite, M2K and Asian among others.
“This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss, celebrating the incredible success of multiple films at the box office this year. It’s a heartfelt “thank you” to all the moviegoers who contributed to this success and an open invitation to those who haven’t yet returned to their local cinema,” a part of the association’s statement read.
The association said there will be ‘exciting’ offers on food and beverages as well. “Stay tuned for additional details around exciting offers on tickets and F&B, which will be revealed at the participating cinemas, on their websites and via their social media channels,” the statement added. The announcement means that Mission Raniganj and Fukrey 3 tickets will also cost just Rs 99 on October 13. But take note that no Bollywood movie is releasing on that particular day.
Last year, National Cinema Day was on October 23. It was initially supposed to happen on October 13 but was then postponed following the massive response to the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra: Part -1: Shiva.
National Cinema Day was started in India by The Multiplex Association of India established National Cinema Day in 2022. It was done to commemorate the reopening of cinema halls after the long COVID-19 lockdown.
