Bhubaneswar: A youth from Rourkela, whose marriage was scheduled on Wednesday, died in a road accident in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Nayapalli Police, Rajesh Kumar Swain, a native of Rourkela, had come to Bhubaneswar to do shopping for his marriage.
Rajesh was on the way to a market on his bike when a speeding car coming from Khandagiri hit him on the flyover. As a result, the bike skidded off the road and hit the divider killing him on the spot.
Following information, police rushed to the spot and detained two youths and a girl travelling in the car. Police also seized some liquor bottles from the vehicle.
Acting on the complaint filed by the family members of the deceased, police have registered a case.
