Cuttack: The district administration has decided not to allow the devotees to celebrate ‘Maha Shivaratri’ celebration in Dhabaleswara Peetha this year due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Cuttack Sub-Collector Ajambar Mohanty told the media that prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC will be clamped in and around the Dhabaleswara Peetha for two days on March 11 and 12.

The decision regarding cancellation of the devotees’ participation in the celebration was taken at a meeting of the Endowment Department on Thursday. However, the temple priests will perform the rituals of the festival as usual, he added.
