Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police arrested one person on Saturday night in connection with Sri Sri University employee Sunil Sahu murder case.
The accused was identified as Niranjan Behera.
The police seized a gun and bullet from his possession.
It is suspected that Sunil has been murdered over a alleged love triangle. But exact reason of murder is yet to be ascertained.
The police visited the murder place on Sunday morning. After collecting the information from the arrested person, the DCP will give detain information, police sources.
Other accused involved in the case are still at large.
Notably, the emoloyee was shot dead on November 25 at Godi sahi under Barang police limits in Odisha’s Cuttack district.
He was a native of Rairakhol in Sambalpur district. He worked as a supervisor at the varsity.
With bullet wounds on his head, chest and right hand, he was rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to sources, Sahu had gone to Netala Chhak at Godi Sahi in the morning when two motorcycle-borne miscreants opened three rounds of fire on him and fled the area.
Following the incident, locals informed Barang police which rushed to the spot and took him to the SCB.
Cuttack DCP Akhileshwar Singh had said that the incident took place between 10 am and 10.30 am. The attackers were known to the victim, he added.
