Bhubaneswar: One of the two cubs delivered by tigress ‘Ankita’ died on
Saturday night at Nandankanan Zoological Park here.
The zoo authorities said that they are trying to ascertain the exact
reason behind the death of the cub. The activity of the other cub is
being monitored through CCTV footage.
With the death of the cub, the number of tigers at the zoo has gone
down to 25 including eight white tigers and two melanistic male ones.
The animal had delivered the cubs around 10:12 pm and 10:40 pm
separately on her birthday on Friday night.
Ankita was born to white tiger Rishi and tigress Sara in 2012.
