One Dead, 11 Ill After Consuming ‘Poisonous Food’ In Keonjhar

Keonjhar: One person died and 11 others were taken ill after allegedly consuming “poisonous food” at Khiriatangi Nuagaon village under Turamanga police limits of Keonjhar district on Tuesday night.

The dead has been identified as Mitu Nayak.

Sources said eights persons had come to erect tents for a wedding. They had dinner with four members of the family.  After consuming food, some people complained of unease and nausea and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Mitu died.

The condition of 11 others is critical and they have been sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
