Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, one person was killed and two others were critically injured in lightning strike during a wedding procession at a village in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Friday.
The incident reportedly occurred when the procession was moving from Chandrasekhar Prasad village under Sadar police limits to Ranja village. The procession was about to reach the bride’s house when sudden lightning struck near Ranja Square.
One person, identified as 52-year-old Amin Behera of Koilipangi, reportedly died on the spot.
Two others, Tapan Jena and Manoj Dehuri, sustained serious injuries and were immediately rushed to the Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Manoj was later referred to a hospital in Kataka as his condition turned critical.
