Balasore: A worker was killed and another five were critically injured when boulders came crashing on them during alleged illegal blasting at a stone quarry at Bagudi in Soro area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.
According to sources, the injured were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre here and later shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
The identity of the deceased, who was trapped under a huge pile of debris, has not been established.
On being informed, Soro Tahasildar, Police and Fire Service personnel reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
