Bhubaneswar: One person died while two others were critically injured in separate accidents in Odisha’s Cuttack and Sundargarh in the early hours of Sunday.
A car plunged into a canal under Kandarpur police limits, killing Deepak Behera (27), a resident of Sidharpur area in Cuttack. On being informed, Kandarpur police reached the spot and sent the body to SCB Medical College and Hospital for postmortem.
In the second accident, two people sustained critical injuries after the car in which they were travelling fell off a bridge near Bonai in Sundargarh. The injured, Ajit Mahant and Omkar Behera of Kadadia village in Keonjhar, have been admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital.
The accident took place around 2 am while they were on their way to Rourkela from Kadadia village, sources said.
