Paradip: Kujang police on Friday have detained a person in connection with the incident in which bodies of a woman and her three children were found floating in the Mahanadi river near Shani Temple in Paradip of Jagatsinghpur district the previous afternoon.
The detainee was identified as Akshaya Sethi, the father of the deceased woman.
The woman’s family had earlier lodged a complaint alleging that she was murdered for property.
Meanwhile, police have started conducting raids at different places in the district to nab other people involved in the case.
The deceased were identified as Babina Sethi, her daughters Barsha (9), Lisa (5) and son Babuna (7) of Jagannathpur village. They were found floating with face downwards.
The four were family members of one Ananta Sethi, who had died in an accident a few days back.
