Koraput: One person died and four others went missing after a country boat capsized in a river in Odisha’s Koraput district on Thursday.
As per reports, the incident took place when the five persons of Tansing village under Padua police limits were going to Badela village to attend a family programme. They had taken the country boat and were rowing it themselves to cross Patali Padi river when it capsized.
The locals started searching for them in the river but failed to trace them. Fearing that all the five persons had drowned, the informed the police and Fire Brigade.
The police along with a team of Fire service personnel and Nandapur tehsildar went to the river bank and launched the search operation. Later, the body of one person was found floating at Tansingh ghat.
The missing persons are Sasirekha Arlab, Shanti Seema, Nabina Arlab and Pushpanjali Arlab. The body of Lalmani Seema has been found, the sources said.
