Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh finished second and third, respectively, to clinch silver and bronze medals in the men’s 10,000m event.
Kartik finished the gruelling race in 28 minutes 15.38 seconds while Gulveer clocked 28:17.21 – personal best timings for both long-distance runners. Bahrain’s Balew Birhanu (28:13.62) beat the Indians to gold.
A day earlier, Indians won gold and silver in women’s 10m air pistol courtesy the brilliance of Palak Gulia and Esha Singh.
