Mumbai: An 80-year-old woman was hospitalised after a fire broke out at an apartment in a 15-storey building, which reportedly houses singer Shaan’s apartment, in Bandra area of Maharastra’s Mumbai in the early hours of Tuesday.
The elderly woman, identified as Sira Paryani, was found unconscious on the eighth floor of the building and was rushed to nearby Bhabha Hospital for treatment.
Fire personnel also rescued nine persons from the building using a staircase.
Four fire engines and other fire-fighting vehicles took nearly nearly two-and-a-half hours to douse the fire, which had erupted in a flat located on the sixth floor of the Fortune Enclave building in Bandra (West) at around 1 am, news agency PTI reported quoting a civic official.
The cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained.
