Bhubaneswar: A person was killed while 19 others
injured in separate road accidents across the state on Thursday.
The collision between a truck and a car on National Highway-55 at Jarapada
in Angul district left a car passenger dead and three critically
injured. Those injured were admitted to Angul hospital for treatment.
In Balangir, as many as eleven students got injured when a picnic bus
which they were travelling in hit a stationary truck near Kadalimunda
nursery. The students of Balangir Ayurvedic College were returning
from Tirthagada in Chhattisgarh when the accident occurred. They were
rushed to the district headquarters hospital.
Similarly, five people were injured after a picnic bus carrying them
was hit by a truck near Mirigimundi under Basta block in Balasore
district. The bus was heading towards Puri from Kolkata when the
mishap took place.
