Sonepur: One person was killed and two others were critically injured in a violent clash between two groups over a minor dispute in Binika area of Odisha’s Sonepur district.
Sources said dispute over a trivial issue spiralled into a violent
clash in Nuapada area of Binika late on Tuesday night and the two groups reportedly used sharp weapons. During the clash, one person was stabbed to death, while two others sustained serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Somanath Meher. The injured persons were initially rushed to a hospital at Binika and later referred to VIMSAR in Burla for advanced treatment due to the severity of their condition.
After receiving information, Binika police rushed to the spot, brought the situation under control, and initiated an investigation. The area has been kept under close watch to prevent any further escalation of tension.
