One Killed, 5 Injured In Group Clash In Balangir

Balangir: One person was killed and five others injured during a clash between two groups at Silua village under Titilagarh police station limits in Balangir district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Abhi Chhatria.

Those injured were immediately rushed to Titilagarh hospital in critical condition. One of them was later shifted to the district headquarters hospital after his condition deteriorated.

According to locals of the area, the clash erupted between the two groups over construction of houses under Indira Awas Yojana.

“Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident from taking place. The matter is under investigation”, a police officer informed.
