Bargarh: One person was killed and seven others including four women injured when a tourist car in which they were travelling, rammed into a roadside pillar at Dabling Chhak in Bhatli town of Odisha’s Bargarh district in the early morning hours on Monday.
Sources said eight persons from Amrapali of Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh had gone to Puri for a darshan of Lord Jagannath on Sunday.
On their return, the driver lost control of the vehicle which skidded off the road and hit a roadside pillar.
As a result, one person died on the spot and seven others were injured.
The incident took place at about 6 AM.
Following information, Bhatli police rushed to the spot and admitted them to Bargarh district headquarters hospital. However, four women were later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla after their condition became critical.
