Puri: In a tragic incident, one person died and eight others were critically injured as an SUV rammed into a roadside tree on Konark Marine Drive road in Puri on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Jyotiprakash Mishra, the driver of the SUV. He died on the spot.
According to sources, two families had come to Puri from West Bengal for a visit. The accident took place on their way to a tourist spot near Konark. The SUV driver lost control over the wheel and the vehicle rammed into a roadside tree near Liakhia bridge.
The driver was crushed to death inside the vehicle and eight other tourists were critically injured. The injured persons were rushed to the Puri DHH.
