Cuttack: A person was killed while another sustained critical injuries in a bomb blast at Maniabandha village in Athagarh area of Cuttack district late on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Bikash Sahu, a resident of Bindhanima village in the district.
Tension erupted in the locality after members of two groups indulged in a heated argument over ganja trade. Moments later, the situation took an ugly turn after members of both the groups started attacking each other.
Irked over this, a person from one of the groups threw a bomb at the rivals, killing Sahu on the spot and injuring another.
The injured was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for treatment.
Meanwhile, Badamba police has detained four persons for their alleged involvement in the bomb attack and violent clash.
Adequate police personnel have been deployed at the village to prevent any untoward incident.
