One Killed, Another Critical In Explosion While Carrying Crude Bomb On Bike In Odisha

Khurda: A man was killed and another sustained critical injuries after a crude bomb, which they were carrying in a bag on a motorcycle, exploded near Shedheiagarh village under Sadar police limits of Odisha’s Khurda district late on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Nirakar Singh and the injured as Lulu Senapati, both of Shedheiagarh.

According to sources, Singh died on the spot following the explosion between 1 am to 2 am. Senapati was first taken to a nearby hospital and the shifted to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar. He was later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition remained critical.

Meanwhile, police have begun a probe into the incident. A forensic team and bomb disposal squad have also been pressed into service to examine the explosion site and gather evidence.
