Bhubaneswar: A person died while another was injured after a car in which they were travelling crashed into a roadside electric pole near Bhimatangi area late on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Laxmidhar Mallia.
The driver of the vehicle, Golak Nayak, was rescued by locals and rushed to a hospital in critical condition.
The car was also severely damaged in the collision.
According to eyewitnesses, the mishap took place when the driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control of the wheels while overtaking another vehicle.
