Sundargarh/ Khurda: One person was killed and two others were critically injured after being attacked by elephants at two different places in Odisha on Saturday.
A man was trampled to death by an elephant at Kuleibaga village in Bonai of Sundargarh district on Saturday morning. The deceased was a native of Kulaeibaga village.
According to the sources, the incident took place when the victim had gone out of his house for some work.
Likewise, elephants wreaked havoc near Bhushandpur station in Khurda district the same day. Two persons were critically injured after being attacked by an elephant that had separated from its herd.
Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to the district headquarters hospital.
Notably a herd of elephants strayed into the human habitation in Bhushandpur on Friday night. One got separated from the herd and went on a rampage. The elephant also damaged some vehicles.
On being informed the police and police department officials reached the spot and tried to drive it out.
