One Killed, Three Injured In Lightning In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: One person died and three others sustained serious injuries as lightning struck them at Keshadiha Purunapani village under Thakurmunda block in Mayurbhanj district on Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, four workers were engaged in a brick kiln on the outskirts of the village in the afternoon when it started to rain. As the workers were trying to cover the raw bricks with polythene sheets, they were struck by lightning.

While one of them, identified as Mahendra Samada of Jamununda Sahi in the village, died on the spot, three others were shifted to the community health centre at Thakurmunda where their condition is stated to be critical.
