Kalahandi: The driver of a grain-laden truck died when the vehicle overturned at Baragaon Square in Kalahandi district in the early hours on Sunday.
“The incident took place after the helper, who was driving the truck, lost control over the vehicle after applying sudden brakes near a turning. The truck skidded as it had rained heavily the previous night and overturned”, an eyewitness said.
Police rushed to the accident spot on receiving information about the accident and recovered the driver’s body from the truck.
“Investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident. Efforts are on to nab the helper, who managed to flee the spot soon after the accident,” police sources informed.
