One Killed, Two Injured As Car Runs Over 2 Bikes In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A bike rider was killed and two others were critically injured as a speeding car hit two motorcycles in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.

According to sources, the accident took place at Taj Bhavan square in the city in the evening. The car, which was in high speed, lost control and hit one motorcycle on the busy road.

The car driver further lost control and run over another biker. As he failed to control the car, the vehicle jumped over to the junction island and perched on its fence.

As the second bike completely got crushed under the wheels of the car, its rider died on the spot while the driver of the first bike and another person were critically injured, the sources said.

The accident led to disruption in traffic movement on the road and several vehicles were stranded. On being informed, a team from Capital police station went to the spot and sent the injured persons to Capital Hospital.
