Angul: A person died and two sustained grievous injuries after being attacked by a wild bear at Basudevpur under Madhapur range in Angul district on Saturday.
According to locals, the trio had gone to a forest to collect mushroom this morning. A wild bear, all of a sudden, appeared before them, dragged them to a bushy area and attacked them.
When the villagers rushed to the spot after hearing noises, the animal fled the area.
Those injured were admitted to VIMSAR in Burla for treatment.
On getting information, police and forest department officials reached the spot and recovered the body.
