One killed as two trucks collide in Ganjam

Berhampur: One person died and another sustained serious injuries when two trucks collided head-on at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as the driver of one of the trucks. The injured was admitted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur. Police suspect over speeding to be the reason behind the accident.

Tension prevailed in the area for a few hours as an irate mob staged a road blockade near the accident site, demanding adequate compensation for the family of the deceased.

However, police managed to pacify the agitators and lift the blockade.
