One More Hour Added To Monsoon Session Of Odisha Assembly

Bhubaneswar: The monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will commence on July 2 with some changes in the timings, Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukha informed on Wednesday.

“The House will now function for 6 hours with the afternoon session, starting 4 pm, extending till 7 pm instead of 6 pm,” he told the media.

This session, which will continue till August 4, will have 24 working days and among them, two days have been marked for private members’ business. Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari is slated to present the State Budget for the year 2022-23 on the first day of the session.

The House will gather with strict adherence to COVID protocols, he added.

Meanwhile, the BJP and Congress MLAs have demanded the entry of journalists into the Assembly and also the physical presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in the House during the discussions.
