Phulbani: Odisha lost one more doctor to COVID-19 with the death of Snehasis Giri at the SCB Medical College and College and Hospital in Cuttack on Tuesday night.
Giri, an AYUSH doctor, was working under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram at a hospital in Khajuripada block in Kandhamal district. He was in home isolation after being tested positive for COVID-19 recently.
As his condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the COVID ward at the SCB. where he passed away.
The Commissionerate Police later gave him a guard of honour.
With this, the number of doctors, who have died of the infection during the second wave, has gone up to 33.
