Puri: The Vigilance unearthed property worth Rs 1.66 crore during raids on Krushna Chandra Jena, a Statistical Assistant, ICDS project, in the office of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) in the district.
The Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at three places in Puri and one in Bhubaneswar following allegations that he had accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
During the raid by six teams comprising 2 DSPs, 10 inspectors and other staff, the Vigilance unearthed two triple-storey buildings (one each at Puri and Bhubaneswar); six plots of land which includes one at Nuagaon in Bhubaneswar and five plots in Puri district; two four-wheelers, 10 two-wheelers, bank deposits including fixed deposit of Rs 49 lakh, insurance deposits of over Rs 7.52 lakh and other movable and immovable property totalling to over Rs 1.66 crore till now.
