Bhubaneswar: A day after the Silicon Institute of Technology at Patia was sealed, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday initiated similar action against Oxford College of Engineering and Management at Palaspalli in the Odisha capital for COVID-19 norms violation.
According to sources, the South West Zone Enforcement Team of the BMC sealed the institute this morning till further orders.

The BMC also sealed the function hall of Ram Mandir at Janpath here for holding a birthday event without its prior permission.
The Odisha capital has been witnessing a spike in COVID-19 cases in the last few weeks. While clusters in educational institutions were earlier blamed for the surge in new cases, people returning from outside the state are now adding to the affected tally of the city.
On Tuesday, 101 of 105 cases reported in Khurda district were from Bhubaneswar.
