Cuttack: In a tragic incident, while three minor brothers were bathing in Kathjodi river in Odisha Cuttack city, one of them drowned on Tuesday.
As per reports, the three brothers staying in Ambika Lane of Badambadi in the city had gone to take bath in Kathjodi near Jagannath temple in Khannagar in the afternoon. While bathing, the eldest of them, Biswa Ranjan Sout, slipped into deep water and went missing.
Alarmed by the sight of Biswa drowning, the two brothers informed their parents. The parents along with local people rushed to the spot and some of them ventured into the river in spate but failed to trace 17-year-old Biswa.
On being informed, Fire Brigade launched a search operation in the river. After searching for nearly two hours, the Fire personnel found Biswa deep inside the river and brought him to the banks. But by the time, he was dead.
