One Person Drowns, Five Missing In Kharasrota River In Odisha’s Jajpur

Jajpur: Holi celebrations turned tragic when one person drowned in the Kharasrota River in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Friday.

According to sources, seven youths were swept away in the river while they were taking bath after playing colours. While the body of a youth was fished out of the river, another person was rescued and admitted to the district headquarters hospital. He was later shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

Five others are still missing. The identity of the deceased and the missing persons are yet to be ascertained.

The incident occurred at Mangala Ghat near Badasura village.

Jajpur police and fire tenders have launched search operations.
