Balasore: A lovelorn youth allegedly attempted to abduct a college girl at gunpoint in Jaleswar area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday.
The accused has been identified as Braja Gopala Das.
According to sources, the accused entered Surendra Nath College when a sporting event was underway and pointed a gun at the girl. He was, however, overpowered by onlookers and teachers and handed over to police.
Besides arresting Das, police have seized the gun and two live bullets from him and initiated an investigation.
