Bhubaneswar: It is often said planning a wedding can be harder than finding your soulmate. So, here’s good news for denizens of Odisha capital, struggling to find a wedding venue. Now, you can book a kalyan mandap under the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits for family functions or any social occasion with a click of a button from Wednesday.
The kalyan mandaps are at Sahid Nager (ground and first floor), VSS Nagar, Chandrasekharpur, Badagada, Unit-VIII, Sashtri Nagar, Buddheswari and Unit-VI within the city limits.
The completely automated and online booking system developed by the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) will now allow citizens to book the venues from the comfort of their homes by visiting Bhubaneswar.Me portal and selecting citizen services options.
Denizens can check real-time availability of kalyan mandaps for the selected date range from the particular section under Bhubaneswar.Me portal and book the venue by paying booking fees through the multiple online payment options such as UPI, credit card and debit card, a BMC release said.
The confirmation of booking is communicated through a system generated booking certificate and booking confirmation over the registered mail and mobile number, it added.
“This new initiative will come in handy for senior citizens searching for wedding venues and also those who want prime facilities in the city at affordable prices for other functions. The online option would also help in maintaining transparency in the service delivery,” said BMC Commissioner and Managing Director and CEO of BSCL Sanjay Kumar Singh.
