Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the onset of cold wave in Odisha in the next 72 hours from November 5.
According to the director of the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, HR Biswas, some parts of interior Odisha have recorded about 1-2 degree Celsius less than the average temperature while the temperature has remained 2 degree Celsius above the average temperature due to the formation of a low pressure over the east-central Bay of Bengal.
He said while the low-pressure will have minimal impact barring sporadic rainfall in some parts of coastal Odisha as it is now heading towards the Bangladesh coast, the temperature will gradually fall in the next 24 hours and subsequently come down by 3-4 degree Celsius in most parts of the state from November 5.
