Bhubaneswar: Andhra Pradesh, which has staked claim to the Kotia region in Odisha’s Koraput district, has often stoked tension with its neighbour by its activities in the bordering region.
Against this backdrop, a goof-up in the Class X Geography textbook published by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has not gone down well with students, parents and people of Kotia region.
The book mentions that the Machkund hydel project, which is located in Koraput district, is situated in Andhra Pradesh. The goof-up appears on page no. 69 of the book. The error has been left uncorrected since 2018 and has remained in the revised edition of the book published this year, according to reports.
Besides, the Kolab hydropower project, also in Koraput district, is missing in the list of hydel projects in Odisha.
