Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President Niranjan Patnaik on Friday suggested an ex-gratia provision of Rs 50 lakh for journalists, who lose their lives while covering COVID-19 in the state.
He said that Rs 15 lakh insurance cover for the scribe was too less. “They also risk their lives while covering news during COVID crisis and should also be treated as Corona Warriors,” he said.
